Ultrasound

Ultrasound has been used for cosmetic purposes since the early 1980's because of its therapeutic properties and great results. Small doses of Ultrasound can promote the synthesis of protein inside the cells, help to regenerate wounded tissues and promote the synthesis of fibre cells in the body. The accelerated metabolism of the cells changes the pH level of the skin to a more alkaline condition and facilitates the absorption of any induced products.

When using the DermaCo Pro system you get the most up to date treatment procedure available in the UK. The Ultrasound attachments vibrate at 1-3 million times per second (MHz) to create frictional heat that will penetrate through the dermal layers of the skin quickly and easily. This warming and heating action is one of the most important therapeutic factors of Ultrasound. It is a kind of internal heat that is carried away by the blood circulation and is not felt by the client.

Ultrasound helps to expand the space in which the cells exist, causing movement of cytoplasm, the rotation of mitochondria and the vibration of the cell nucleus. This in turn will stimulate and expand the cell membrane, improve blood circulation, relax muscles and aid in the breakdown of fatty deposits, reducing the appearance of cellulite. Ultrasound will also stimulate the skin tissue increasing cell regeneration, collagen production and the removal of fine lines and wrinkles.

More importantly Ultrasound will penetrate through the skin to the deepest layers, changing various cellular properties. When it comes into contact with a cell the cell membrane becomes temporarily permeable allowing specific types of nutrients to be absorbed. This procedure ensures that the active ingredient has been transported deep into the dermis and has effectively gone straight to the root of the problem so that the client receives the full benefit of the product.

Microcurrent

Micro-current Therapy was developed over 20 years ago and was originally a medical treatment to re-educate weakened facial muscles in stroke victims and those who have suffered Bells Palsy. Micro-current has been adapted by the beauty industry to provide a course of treatments that would effectively tone and firm facial muscle fibre. It is a safe and painless treatment procedure that rejuvenates the skin; giving more healthy looking contours and much younger look. After just one treatment there will be a noticeable lift depending on individual skin tone and muscle resistance levels, but results can often be very dramatic.

An initial consultation is required to assess your body make up followed by a course of ten treatments spread over a 3-4 week period, after which you will inevitably look "10 Years Younger". To maintain this new lifted and toned appearance one treatment per month is recommended.

The DermaCo Pro unit uses Micro-current to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the skin's surface. The Micro-current emits a very tiny amount of electrical current that, applied to the skins surface, pushes through the dermal layers of the skin tissue and penetrates the muscles beneath. When the current comes into contact with the muscle it re-educates the muscle fibres by using an intermittent electrical current (Faradic) that is biologically compatible with the body's own natural electrical energy – sometimes referred to as "chi." These muscle fibres contract and relax achieving an incredible end result leaving skin lifted and toned.

Because the application of Micro-current is sub-sensory there is no pain. Although some may feel a slight tingling sensation normally they will only feel the probes and the pressure of muscles being manipulated.

Diamond Tip Abrasion (Microdermabrasion)

Microdermabrasion allows the therapist to perform mechanical exfoliation based on the safe and controlled removal of the epidermis, layer by layer, without the use of messy (and expensive) crystals. Instead the Diamond Tip abrasion method uses various size heads which allow the therapist to treat all target areas, even around the eyes. There are 3 types of abrasive Tip:

• Medium Grade (200) - Average Skin Tone and Texture
• Low Grade (250) - To be used on Soft, Thin and Brittle Skin

Performing Diamond Tip abrasion using your DermaCo Pro system is quick and painless and will rejuvenate and regenerate your skin. Following the moderate removal of the top layers of the epidermis there will be a period of increased growth of new skin cells. The new cells will travel outwards and replace the old dead cells that have been removed by microdermabrasion. Most crystal based therapy leaves can leave skin tender as the treatment can be very harsh on the sensitive Base layer. With the DermaCo Pro exfoliation is a gradual process and there is no risk of deep, unequal exfoliation or scarring.

Light Therapy

Within our skin we have many different receptors that when stimulated have an immediate effect on our body. Some receptors respond to touch whilst others respond to various colour light. An example of the effect light has on our skin is seen in skin cancer patients. When the UV Rays penetrate our skin and come into contact with our light receptors various problems can occur. Using this basic knowledge of light, many organisations like NASA have conducted research and development into how other colours from the light spectrum would effect our skin in a positive way.

The DermaCo Pro unit uses 4 main types of light, RED, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW. Each light has a completely different effect to our skin.

• Red - Will increase collagen and elastin production
• Blue - Creates an anti inflammatory/anti bacterial effect that is perfect for problematic acne and as a post microdermabrasion treatment.
• Green - Soothing effect on any irritation, increases melanin production and reduces redness.
• Yellow - Encourages Lymphatic Drainage and will assist in detoxifying the face and body.

LED Therapy uses non-thermal light that infiltrates deep into the skin. It uses different wavelengths at a sufficient light power in order to create a sequence of biological reactions. This in turn stimulates the cells whilst enhancing Elastin and Collagen synthesis to activate the skin tissue repair enzymes. The Dermis needs light to supply cells with energy to stimulate Collagen production, Blood circulation and Lymph circulation. The Led Light Therapy stimulates Citochromes (Proteins) that respond to light and colour to produce a natural biochemical reaction to the skin. The colour used influences the response to the skin.

Studies show that when using LED Light Therapy skin cells grow 150% - 200% faster when exposed to light colours at different wavelengths E.G Red light at 630 nanometres (nm) can penetrate tissue to a depth of 8-10mm. When the colour selected, penetrates down to the appropriate layer, that colours wavelength causes a change a change in the cells. When the cells change it results in the wall of the skin's Capillaries to be strengthened, this leads to improved oxygenation and detoxification of the skin. Different combinations of light can also be used and very effective, for example Green and Red can be used in combination, Green down the centre of the face to promote Hydration on a dry forehead, Nose and Chin whilst Red light would penetrate wrinkles around the eye area/Cheeks etc.
